Battlefront of Rejection

The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.  1 Peter 2: 7

Using the Old Testament, Peter draws the image of Jesus here as the stone, the One who completes God's plan of salvation.

This place in scripture causes me to observe in my own self, that the Battlefront of Rejection.  This exists
within me each time I over-ride God's will, ignore God's will, avoid God's will, argue with God's will,
or don't even notice God's will for my life.  Christ died rejected by current Kings and governors of His
day.  His death perfected life for us, eternal life by His blood and our believing.

Lord, I am sorry each time Your will has taken second place to my own.  Continue to teach me submissionary living.  I give You thanks and praise for Your mercy, Your patience and Your grace.  Your love, Your amazing love separates You from all other gods worshipped today.  Remind me by
Your Spirit that we are just visiting earth - that our citizenship is in heaven.  That we are to honor
all people.  Love the brotherhood.  Fear You.  Honor the king. (verse 17).   May we see others as You
see us all.  That everyone's time is equally valuable to You.  No one is more important than the next
person.  We are not to treat one another with partiality based on wealth or job status as we see them.
Help us see one another with spiritual eyes that see heavenly, eternal value and unconditional acceptance.  Father, please don't let us offend anyone and learn our lives have Your signature on them.
We live lives marked by the cross.  The ground is leveled for us all at the foot of the cross.  That Your
holiness always deals with our Position in Christ and not our condition or position on earth.

The Battlefront of Rejection gives me great pause.  Loving You for over 40 years, it pains me to think
how many times You have awaited my prayer and found me fretting or fearing;  awaited my cry for
Help and found me working and working things over on my own not asking You, without my waiting to hear or read Your instructions and without my faith placed properly in You and improperly in the circumstances.  I give You thanks for Your endless forgiveness and grace toward me.  Please hear my heart of repentance here oh Lord and please change me, grow me and make me less of me and more
of You !  Thank You for this gentle reminder that rejection continues even in devoted believers like me.

Thank You for Your PERFECTION PLAN.  That by repenting from participating in the Battlefront
of Rejection, You perform Your perfecting ways upon my walk.    Colossians 1:28 is telling us:  "Him
we preach, warning every man  and teaching every man in all wisdom,  that we may present every man
perfect in Christ Jesus."  He performs all things for us and did all the really hard parts of life on earth
up on the cross.  Nothing we will ever be asked to do is as hard as what Jesus has already done.
Amen and Amen

If you are feeling rejected, overlooked or ignored over this holiday season, turn your eyes upon Jesus,
look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory
and grace.  No one has ever been rejected more than Christ.  No one understand rejection like Jesus.
No one has more power to cancel rejection with perfection than Jesus.  Let Him perfect and protect us,
as we become more aware of our abilities to momentarily reject Him without even meaning to !  Don't
feel sad and rejected.  Feel movement, drawing you to the perfection place His heart, His face and His word gives us all.  Make it your business that Jesus has a place of honor through every day this season. Lift Him up in prayer, praise and worship.  Spend no time feeling sorry for yourself !  Spend your time
giving thanks that no one understands the Battlefront of Rejection like Jesus.  He's all wee need, ever.
Become repentant rejectors with me !  Receive His perfection and protection from further rejections !

Wow! C.L. Papajohn,
Your mesaage has really touched my heart and has given me a lot to think about. Jesus Christ is the true reason for the season and during this time when so may people feel lonely and rejected without the peace of our Savior. It is a reminder of how greatful I am that our God is so awesome, living and powerful and Our Jehovah-Shammah Our Ever Present One (Ezekiel 48:35).
