MUSCULAR FAITH

Pistis is the Greek word for faith and trust according to my Bible
index.  It is used over 200 times in the New Testament.  We're
told it's the most active form of 'believing'.  Faith is also described
in my index as 'confidence in the testimony of another'.

Isaiah was to me a man of muscular faith.  In the face of certain
death he listened to God, spoke God's word and recorded it
for all of us, for all time.  It is said Isaiah died a horrific death,
being drawn and quartered pulled apart alive, by four horses.
One horse was tied to each one of his arms and legs.  Horrific.
Heroic. I love Isaiah.  This book changes me, builds me and grows me.

How often horrific becomes heroic.  Muscular faith.  Faithfulness
according to my index is 'living out one's faith in daily life'.  For
me, my daily faith needs daily feeding, nurturing, building and strengthening.
I call this devotional time my daily work out, as God works His word
into my soul, my mind, my heart, my spirit strengthening my faith muscle.

Muscular faith takes dedication, decisions to be with God, go to His
word and listen to Him change me, love me, build me or send me out
to do something.  Muscular faith takes daily appointments, reminders,
awareness building and so much more !  Mustard seed faith is a common
phrase of encouragement to me.  All that is asked is this size faith:

Matthew 17:20  So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief;
for assuredly,  I say to you,  if you have faith as a mustard seed, you
will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move;
and NOTHING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU.
Matthew 17:21  However this kind does not go out except by
prayer and fasting."

Our Personal Trainer is Christ.  Our muscle need be only seed sized.
Our routine needs prayer, fasting and feasting in His word.  Let's work out !
He is our source of all strength.
