Spiritual Adultery

When the Lord began to speak by Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea,   "Go, take yourself a wife of harlotry

And children of harlotry, For the land has committed great harlotry BY DEPARTING FROM THE LORD."  Hosea 1:2

Tiger Woods is the latest public person to be branded an adulterer.  He is just one prayer away from the
forgiveness we all find in Jesus based on His finished work on the cross that none should perish.  John
3:16 tells us He wants no one to perish.  No one.  He died for all of our sins.  All means all.  That's all
all means.  May Tiger look full into Jesus' wonderful face this day, repent and become reborn in Christ's
all powerful, death defying, unending, power of an endless life and His unconditional  LOVE ! !

Truth is, we are all momentary prodigals when we depart from God and momentary adulterers, or
spiritual adulterers when we depart from God's will and perfect plans for us.  Truth is, we have all
sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  Sin separates us all from Him.  His holiness sees a
thought of murder, the same as actual murder - separating sins.  Matthew Chapter 5 describes God's
views of murder, adultery, divorce and more.  Matthew 5:28 "But I say to you that whoever looks at a
woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."  Our eyes, our hearts, are
not hidden from God, the One who created them, and us to NEED, WANT and LOVE HIM.

None of us can atone or work our way to heaven - Jesus did the only thing that gets us forgiven and
He finished that work on the cross.  Believers, please pray without ceasing for Tiger and ourselves
that we may not commit adultery in the flesh or in the spirit.  By the power indwelling us, we depend
on the Holy Spirit to help us live devotedly by His word, abiding there and finding our places in His
heart of endless love.  He alone can help us take every thought captive to His obedience, the obedience
that brought Him to and kept Him on that cross and until death and sin was defeated once and for all.

2 Corinthians 10:5  Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE OBEDIENCE OF
CHRIST.

Obedience is our message and His method, His model for us to live by.  His obedience is the obedience
we can depend on - it comes from outside of us - it's all powerful sin-killing obedience.  His obedience
can be ours for the asking, seeking, knocking and doing.  His obedience has all the power necessary to
defeat temptations of all kinds.  We can't work this kind of obedience up in our flesh.

"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts."  Zechariah 4:6

Can God ?  God Can.  God is.  God will.  God already has.  Can God?  God Can.  God cannot fail.
Failure is our teacher.  God is a God of second chances and more.  Trust God or yourself.
