"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." Job 13:15a. This is TRUST POWER. This is FAITH. The enemy of God, Satan, is doing all He can to steal our trust. Satan wants us to keep our eyes on current events, to believe the lies of the media, to believe the lies of the politicians, to believe the lies surrounding those of us who stand in Jesus, the truth. Truth is, Jesus chose us to be alive today, because, standing in Him, we are bullet proof. We are indestructible in Him. Earth is the shortest part of our existence. The real long haul, is eternity, with Him or without Him. Eternity with Him will be heavenly, without Him, it is hell.
Two keys to eternity with Jesus are faith and trust. Faith and trust seem under attack. Lies swirl all around us. Uncertainty is the norm. So we go to the certainty of the Word of God. Perhaps the oldest book in the Bible is Job. We see Job's faith sees past illness, betrayals, condemnations, wealth and material losses, and even greater losses with the death of his children. He is a strong example, of a truly righteous man, who was indeed, chosen by God, for testing. "But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold." Job 23:10. God chooses our tests. We choose how to respond to God, during testing. Remember, nothing touches us that isn't Father Filtered. He's with us and in control.
So, what is trust without faith or faith without trust? For me, they are one. They are maybe the most important verbs in life, and I believe they are two of Satan's favorite targets. But relax, we have a bullet proof shield, His truth, "His truth shall be your shield and buckler." Psalm 91:4c. His truth is bullet proof.
Weakened faith and trust, can cause us to enter pride, where we might succumb to deceptions, hopelessness, helplessness and fear, doubt or worry. We put ourselves at risk to possibly, begin living a deceived life! This is a great victory for God's enemy, Satan. But we have a foolproof cure! The only cure for deception, is truth, God's Living Word, the Bible. So I go for Bible cures, which are often, INSTANT. We all suffer loss of perspective from time to time. Job 13:15, Job chapters 38-42, Isaiah 55:8-9,11 and Isaiah chapter 26 are all places which improve and return perspective.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD, forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4.
So we praise and thank You, our awesome and good God, our Heavenly Father, who was and is and is to come. We ask to be taught how to pray, to have our prayers informed and formed by You. Your thoughts and ways are so much higher than ours. We seek to count it ALL joy, knowing You allowed "it" not for our harm, but for Your glory. May we bring You joy, in the midst of our stumbling through, what we perceive to be, our own personal, fiery trials. Sometimes we wonder what You would call these events in our lives? Perhaps a fiery trial to us, is golden polishing to You? We love Your love.
We deeply, adore Jesus, and seek to lean into Him fully. Thank You for Your continual presence, Your continuing to build trust, faith, mercy, and all the spiritual gifts which You have so freely given us. How we need them all! Please cause us to use them righteously. May we learn to live, doing both faith and trust, more bravely. May we be more courageous in faith, more fully trusting in You. Make us more aware of Satan's targeting and Your all powerful, shielding. We ask peace to Israel, in the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
Isaiah 55:8-9,11 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,: says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And my thoughts than your thoughts.
"So shall My word be that goes for the from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
"So shall My word be! It shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." Promises to believe and hold in our hearts, for good!!!!
