Jesus chose to die for our sins, because we are the joy, God set before Him, and we were stinking in our own sin. Jesus wanted to be with us forever. We are saved by His blood. History tells us, slaves were used for hard labor. The Bible does not speak of this, but as I work with wood and wonder, it often occurs to me, "who were the cross builders?" Chances are they were among the persecuted, enslaved, condemned Christians of the day.
We just might meet the builders of the cross, one day in heaven. He chose the nails, He chose the wood, He chose to be obedient to the Father and stay on the cross, until, our sin debt was finished, paid in full. This is historical fact. He was seen by over five hundred at once, after His resurrection, which is also historical fact, recorded by the historians of the day. He lives.
May we walk with Him, fearing, walking, loving Him, in all humility, all our days, spreading the good news, Jesus Saves. Amen.
