Spiritual Warfare is as much a fact of life, as bullets, bombs and brutality.
Our pastor is an expert on spiritual warfare, teaching us how to become effective, enlisted soldiers in the war. The battle begins the instant we receive Christ. Studying spiritual warfare is key to victory and defending the faith. We must recognize the enemy, his targets and his crusher, our God, who wins.
Psalm 51 through 88, rock my world. These psalms explain my powerlessness, God's power and just reading them gives me an infusion, a transfusion of clarity, strength, promise and spiritual grounding. Earth is a battlefield as well as an abundantly glorious gift. Earthlife is temporary, but our battle stakes are eternal. God has determined the battle stakes. Believers enter eternity to be forever with God. Rejectors of Christ are the unbelievers who will be condemning themselves to eternal condemnation and hell. War is hell, but earthly war cannot be compared to eternity, burning in hell. Believe and be saved or reject God's word, God's son and His free offer of salvation from sin, and be forever in hell.
So we see, life on earth is spiritual in nature. My own earthly father once told me: "Just for now we are SPIRITUAL BEINGS having a HUMAN EXPERIENCE." Every human is part spirit and flesh. It's our spirit part that is designed to last forever. The flesh dies. The spirit never dies and it goes somewhere after our flesh dies. That's a fact. We are God's creation, designed according to God's terms for His reason. God hates sin. God hates sin, yet loves the sinner to life, by offering us His Son, Jesus. The Devil loves sin and loves the sinner to death. Heaven and Hell are forever. Everyone is offered the same choice, to believe in Jesus or not. These are the eternal stakes, the battle stakes for all.
War is a Power Struggle. Spiritual warfare is waged by Satan, against God for power over us.
Our struggle is a power struggle. Do we trust God, the flesh, the world or the devil? Do we notice the differences between them? The battle target is our faith. The battleground is our heart, mind and spirit.
These areas are defined by God. These are God's terms, described throughout His superior battle plan, the Bible. B I B L E = BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH.
Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name. You want none to perish. You are our help from trouble. You tread down our enemies. You prepare us to advance in prayer assault, prayer preparation and prayer coverage of all that is to come. Teach us to pray. Please form and inform our prayer. Simply put, we are simple sheep who need Your help always. Cause us to be more prayer aware, battle ready and please cause us realize the war. May we not avoid, neglect or read reality wrongly. Keep us by Your word, by the Holy Spirit Himself, useful to the causes of Christ TODAY. Thank You for forgiving all the time we've wasted, the missed opportunities to serve You and keep us battle ready, battle dressed and prayer aware of the opposition. We pray our opponents might come to Jesus today, repent and let Him reinvent their lives. Keep us wise as serpents and gentle as doves, aware of the false teachings and lurking wolves. We pray peace to Jerusalem in the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
