According to me, as a lifelong Bible student, context is King! Understandings and missed understandings, alway come down to context in communication. Gathering context takes work. This is why it's such a challenge for us. I love the pros and cons we find in the book of Proverbs.
My caught thought here, is that "God is pro, verbs, we are to be doers of the word, and not just hearers only. God is against out of context content. Why? Satan is against truth. Satan is "con, context." Why? Because Jesus is truth. Understanding truth, takes effort and work. Perhaps that's why there's so many missed understandings. I come to this conclusion, because of my own missed understandings. What we hear, are always bits of something, just as what we read, is part of something bigger. That's why we are not to judge. We cannot have all the facts. So God is our judge. But we are to discern. We do that with Jesus. Jesus is the truth, and therefore, the truth is a living, holy person of whom, we can ask everything. Besides all that, living in the realm of context, protects. Living outside context becomes a danger zone, a deceptive place, which to be sure, also exists.
Context exists. Content of heart exists. God exists, and it's only, His job, to read hearts. Only God knows whether we are living in or out of context. Are we living holy, wholly abiding in Christ or stumbling a bit, abiding in the fleshly sin. "Abidement living is living in Him. Apartment living is living in sin, apart from Him. Our free, choice by choice, address system!"
God help us live in concert with You, the Son and the Holy Spirit. May we walk in tune with Your heart of love, forgiveness and goodness. Please keep us sin-free of fleshly floundering and steadfast of foot, walking with You daily. We love You Lord! Amen.
