How to fear, and who to fear, by King David.

King David teaches us how to "fear" and who to "fear." He tells us the how, and the who, in Psalms 33 and 34.
Verses 4-10 speak of WHO this God is, that we are to fear. Why? Because God listens and is a hearing God. God delivers from personal fears of others, circumstances, or troubles. God makes our faces radiant as we spend time with Him. As we look to Him in prayer, we will radiantly reflect Him. He makes us unashamed. He encamps around all who fear Him, surrounding and delivering troubled believers. He is good and blesses all who trust in Him. He instructs us to place our fear in Him, to thoughtfully, decide to put our fear in Him. He is near those with broken hearts, compassionately saving those with contrite spirits. Our God hears, saves, delivers, surrounds, blesses, instructs and loves.
Then in verses 11-22, we're told HOW to fear God. We are to keep our tongue from evil, our lips from lying and to season our words with salt. We are to separate from evil, do good, seek peace and pursue it. We are to know He hears us, sees us, and that His face is against those who do evil, who will be cut off from remembrance on this earth. We are to cry out to Him, knowing He hears, delivers and is near to those who have broken hearts. We are to believe and know, He saves those who have a contrite spirit.
"The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned." Psalm 34:22
Holy, worthy is the Lamb who was slain….it is ours to fear, walk, love and serve only God….
Father God, help us, never to walk fearing - fearing circumstances, men, anyone, or anything, but only You…… Though You slay me, I will trust in You…so said Job, and so say we.. who know Your mighty ways…Teach me holy fear, and draw me near in honor, holy love and all hope, every moment I stay on earth. Help me abide. Guard my thoughts. Give me praises which will touch Your heart and show You, to all in my life. I love You Lord and I lift my voice, to worship You….Amen
