"Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying: "Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house." Ezekiel 12:1
In my estimation, if rebellion blinds and deafens, then only the faithful operate with reason, eyes to see and ears to hear. Reason is thoughtful, watchful and aware. Reason is law abiding. Treason is rebellion, open breaking with lawful authority, with an intent to overthrow. The efforts to stop an orderly transition of duly elected government are underway, as planned by the progressives, recently voted out of power. The power struggle has recruited the innocent once again, those seeking university educations. I pray those caught in the street struggle, seek to educate themselves in God's word. I believe the Bible is the most excellent study of many issues, including the rise and fall of man made government. God's, "Plan A" for mankind was never for us to be self-governing, but rather to love Him as King. In His wisdom, He has allowed earth to develop all sorts of man made governing techniques. America's government is perhaps the most free and inclusive of all. The progressive plan includes a globalism that destroys nations, and is borderless, orderless.
Universities are generally held as houses of education purposed to grow rational thought, inspire innovate and dispense knowledge. Today, they are being viewed as houses of rebellion. Violent students, and those breaking with the law, are volunteering for treasonous consequences. The best and I believe most godly cure for treason is a return to reason. I pray for reason to return to houses of education once again, along with opened, studied Bibles.
Rebellion
REBEL'LION, noun [Latin rebellio. among the Romans, rebellion was originally a revolt or open resistance to their government by nations that had been subdued in war. It was a renewed war.]
1. An open and avowed renunciation of the authority of the government to which one owes allegiance; or the taking of arms traitorously to resist the authority of lawful government; revolt. rebellion differs from insurrection and from mutiny. Insurrection may be a rising in opposition to a particular act or law, without a design to renounce wholly all subjection to the government. Insurrection may be, but is not necessarily, rebellion Mutiny is an insurrection of soldiers or seamen against the authority of their officers.
No sooner is the standard of rebellion displayed, than men of desperate principles resort to it.
2. Open resistance to lawful authority.
Commission of rebellion in law, a commission awarded against a person who treats the king's authority with contempt, in not obeying his proclamation according to his allegiance, and refusing to attend his sovereign when required; in which case, four commissioners are ordered to attach him wherever he may be found.
Treason
TREASON, noun tree'zn. [Latin traho. See Draw and Drag.]
TREASON is the highest crime of a civil nature of which a man can be guilty. Its signification is different in different countries. In general, it is the offense of attempting to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance, or of betraying the state into the hands of a foreign power. In monarchies, the killing of the king, or an attempt to take his life, is treason In England, to imagine or compass the death of the king, or of the prince, or of the queen consort, or of the heir apparent of the crown, is high treason; as are many other offenses created by statute.
In the United States, treason is confined to the actual levying of war against the United States, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.
TREASON in Great Britain, is of two kinds, high treason and petit treason High treason is a crime that immediately affects the king or state; such as the offenses just enumerated. Petit treason involves a breach of fidelity, but affects individuals. Thus for a wife to kill her husband, a servant his master or lord, or an ecclesiastic his lord or ordinary, is petit treason But in the United States this crime is unknown; the killing in the latter cases being murder only.
