UNEARNED SUFFERING...we look to the cross...we continue.

"UNEARNED SUFFERING," nothing new...we look to the cross.....we continue.
This morning, Our Daily Bread Bible reading includes Psalm 69, the most quoted psalm in the New Testament. Daily, my husband and I lift President Trump, in prayer. That his faith be made strong, his resolve to serve God as flint, and his determination to grow more faithful, deepens and strengthens, with each attack suffered. Only God determines whether things are earned or unearned, as He alone knows the hearts and motivations of men.
"Psalm 69 speaks of David and the "unearned suffering" he endured. It is also a prophetic psalm concerning the coming Messiah. The psalmist wrote verse 21 for instance, one thousand years before vinegar, was lifted to Jesus, while He hung on the cross." Pastor Chuck Smith footnote.
Surely leaders throughout the centuries like King David, Abraham Lincoln and President Trump understand personally, the life and death aspects of fighting corruption of all kinds. They become automatic targets of the corruption, they seek to remove and replace! The fight for right, will never end, until God calls things to a close. God is their commander, and ours. He is Commander and King, Ruler over everything. Righteous and Sovereign, is He. God's love is undefeated and His truth marches on, as written in, the very American, Battle Hymn of the Republic.
As I read tomorrow's passages, this verse touched me, for our president, all leaders and each of us.
"Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37.
