Yahweh or My way - Jesus is the way !

Genesis 4 tells us the story of Cain murdering his brother Able.  Here were two brothers, both coming to
God.  What was the issue ? Cain was coming to God on his terms and Able came to God on God's terms.
God's way or our way ?  He tells us the way.  He gives us the WAY MAKER, our Lord and Savior Jesus,
and we still operate like He's not looking, like He's not really serious, like His way isn't really as tolerant
as our way.  His way isn't really as relevant as our way.  His way isn't really as kind as our way.  His way
isn't really as loving as our way.  His way isn't really as fair as our way.  His way isn't really as good as
our way.  This may sound ridiculous, but is it ?  Everytime we operate outside the way we know we should feel, believe, act, walk or work we are doing things our way instead of His way and He is watching.  He does notice.  He watches not so He can catch us messing up, no, He watches us so He can
extend His hand to us when we fall to help us stand up again.

The story of Cain and Able matters to us on the most basic level.  Do we want to love, trust and believe God and then do life our own way and expect Him to bless that ?  Or do we really want to do life His
way and be blessed bigger than we could expect ?  This is day two of 2010.  May we bless God today.
