May we all Look Alike !

A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.  It is enough for a disciple that he be LIKE his teacher, and a servant LIKE his master.   Matthew 9:24

Our goal is to be like Jesus, right ?  So, as His family, we must resemble Him and one another, right ?

May we seek to drop all selfish competitiveness, self-focused-ness, self-promoting words, self- self-self !

We are to be fishers of men !  Not sell-fish people !  "Sell-fish".  There are people who sell fish.  They deal with a strong fishy aroma, don't they ?  The fish departments of meat counters often meet us with the aroma before we even see the counters, right ?  I love to fish.  Love fishing.  Love to eat fish.  But I do not want to be selfish !  Sometimes our walks cancel our testimonies.  We say we're Christians but
we act a little fishy, a little smelly sometimes especially when we are in open compromise with the world.  For me an open compromise with the world would be ignoring our Bibles.  Saying we're
Christians yet shelving our Bibles instead of delving into them.  We're usually shelvers or delvers.
We begin to smell a little fishy when we're shelvers - in my opinion, speaking for myself.  There's
that word 'self ' again !

Lord, help us die to self.  Make us all look alike and resemble You - peaceful, merciful, compassionate,
patient, loving, helpful, faithful, graceful, prayerful, watching, waiting and awaiting on and for others
in need.  Lord help us be beautiful bait, with love the hook,  and dip us into the oceans of the world
today that we might become fishers of men. Help us be lovely, invitations to all You send our way.
May we truly be a sweet aroma to You.
