Repentance ends the old, and begins the new.

God breaks 400 years of silence with one word, "Repent" and the New Testament begins.

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" Matthew 3:1-3
These were the words from John the Baptist, prophesied by Isaiah saying,
"The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
Prepare the way of the LORD
Make His paths straight." from Isaiah 40:3

As our new year of 2014 begins it is great to think of change, turning around, turning away from the bad and toward the good. Repent. Recognize our bad choices and stop making them. Purposing in our hearts to make good choices and not return to the bad choices. Being sorry for the bad choices and glad for opportunities for new choices. This is not a self-improvement plan. This is God's plan for goodness to fill our lives, for good health, for forgiveness and to prosper in faith and finances. Spending less, saving more, giving more and helping others earn more as we diligently and daily work to be in Your word, Your will and the places where Your abundance is received. Good godly choice making often begins with repentance.  Repentance ends the old and begins the new. Repentance breaks silence.

God of Grace, mighty in power, mover and maker of mountains,
we come to you in newly recognized areas for personal repentance.
We repent of selfish eating habits, selfish speaking behaviors and selfishness of all kinds.
We decide to turn around, turn away from laziness and procrastination especially in prayer and Bible study. Fire us up to be the people we can be abiding in You, Your word and turn us toward Your Holy Spirit's abiding help. You can do everything, and no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You, as Job discovered at the end of his book, in chapter 42:2. Accomplish all You have for us as we DO repentance, fully and in full, wholehearted faith.  In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.
