Hope Surrounds Us - by His "Circum--Standing"
Hope isn't really "ours" to give, it is "ours" to LIVE. He is our HOPE.
The Lord Jesus Christ, our hope. 1 Timothy 1:1
I find Him, "our" Hope, in hospitals. First found Him as "our" hope in Children's Hospital when I was a patient. He was very present then and now. Whenever I visit others in hospital, I know, He's already there, alive, working miracles, a very present power and comfort. I love the name of the cancer center, City of Hope. Hope resides in the greatest known power to man, Jesus Christ and hope lives out of us, we who are in Christ and right into others when we walk like Jesus. Caution - hopelessness can also pour out of us when we walk with our eyes on circumstances. I depend on HOPE.
Problem Solved - We need just look up to Him as He surrounds us where we stand. "He circum- - stands" all around us, rendering circumstances totally His - His to command. Today I like to think that He, our HOPE surrounds us, "circum--standing" our every moment. No accidents with Him or randomness. Faith tells us these things are so about Him. May we be careful where we place our faith especially during medical crises. Our faith does not rest in a doctor, report or test. Our faith relies on nothing else than Jesus, Great Physician, Commander, our Hope, Sovereign over all, very present, awesome in love wanting none to perish. Let's pray for medical professionals that know Him and those who will know Him. That they eagerly soar in scientific excellence, learn the majestic discoveries of Creation such as DNA, and that they truly love and depend on Him as they seek to heal the sick in His name.
God of all Grace, all HOPE and all mighty in power - we come to You in awe of Your love for us. That You gave Your only begotten Son, Jesus to pay our sin debt once and for all, that You resurrected Him from the dead so that He lives today and walks among us by the strength, power, presence and help of the Holy Spirit Himself. So grateful that You have never left us "hopeless" and that hopelessness is not an idea from You. Hopelessness is from hell itself. So thank You, that You encircle us with Yourself. You "circum--stand" our every situation. You are there, all around it, before it, over it and well after it is gone You'll be there. God, increase our faith in You. Increase our abilities to keep You foremost in thought, action, feeling and faith. Cause medical professionals to follow You into salvation, that they may serve as life savers in Your name. Have Your way Lord God. We pray peace to Jerusalem and thank You in the matchless name of Jesus, our HOPE. I depend on HOPE. Amen.
