Puttting Abortion and Gay Marriage up for a VOTE

This is just my own personal rant, and analysis of two exceptional, American, political footballs: gay marriage and abortion. These topics may have gained strength from weak or non-existent Bible teaching. Many church leaders are openly gay, pro-abortion and do not oversee the flock led by the Holy Spirit.

"For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." Acts 20:27-28

Christians believe our God is alive, present and omnipresent. He is also so much more. He is working, has worked and will work all things together according to His plan for the ages. He speaks to us through His word and throughout our ever present Friend, the Holy Spirit Himself.  I'm feeling some things are fundamentally wrong with American politics relative to marriage and abortion. We have decided that God's word is not enough, not broad enough, not current enough to cover our interests. Therefore men and women have worked together to create NEW laws to bring marriage and abortion up for public votes. There is no doubt in my mind that God never intended for marriage and abortion to become voting issues or issues upon which we decide candidates' morality. This is just all wrong on every level.  Marriage and abortion are not now, never have been nor ever will be "vote-able matters" up for public debate. God invented, wrote and keeps covenants with people on marriage and abortion. These two issues are His, designed by Him to promote humanity, which He loves beyond measure.

God of all creation, Father of life, Lover of our souls, Maker of our hearts, Knower of our hearts, Designer of humanity, it is to You we come to form and inform our prayer. We start first with rapid, deep, far reaching aches of repentance. We suffer in the mess we have legally made, relative to marriage and abortion here in America. No other country has made such laws which legally can kill babies born alive which we currently term, "late term" abortions, or marriage equality between anyone other than a man and a woman.

We are sorry for the thing we have made it. We are dreadfully and awestruck with fear that we dare throw marriage and abortion around as political footballs, putting them up for votes and using them to qualify or disqualify people You have chosen to govern us. We are mighty in pride, mighty in judgmentalness and mighty in being mistaken. How dare we "vote" on Your covenants? How dare we?

We pray for every church, all pastors, and every Christian in America that has decided to view the Bible as myth, errant, and out of date. Forgive them because they KNOW NOT WHAT THEY'VE DONE and CONTINUE TO DO. Millions of babies continue to die every year in this country and now marriage has become, "marry whomever you love." Forgive them and infuse them with Your mighty truth. We see they have let America degenerate into this place of putting, marriage and abortion up for a public vote. You may not see things this way Father, but I pretty much hold the church responsible for the disintegration of family, morals and social order. Your word is stronger than a two edged sword. It breaks my heart that so many churches do not simply teach the Bible, and teach the Bible simply. We pray they will, soon and very soon.

Since many, if not most American churches do NOT teach Your full counsel, people resort to making up their own laws. They do NOT KNOW, HAVE NOT BEEN TAUGHT, OR DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS INERRANT, RELEVANT AND IS YOUR LIVING WORD. Bibles sit silently on shelves, collecting dust in homes where people THINK THEY KNOW YOU.  God, YOU ARE WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE, AND YOU SAY WHO  YOU ARE IN YOUR WORD.  This is clear. This is for all to read, know and believe, or NOT.  God, please cause Americans to hunger and thirst for the mightiness of the Bible.

Help us restore the holy covenant of marriage, the sanctity of life and the veracity of Your mighty word, prayer by prayer, hope by hope and persevere, push back every evil advance, and lift up Your mighty heart of equality, impartial, unconditional love and peace for all.  We are so sorry. Help us do right in Your sight. Please grow our pastors, candidates, governors of all types in the light of Your mighty word.
