Now hear this: "No one listens to Me"

Now hear this: "And you have done worse than your fathers, for behold, each one follows the dictates of his own evil heart, so that no one listens to Me." Jeremiah 16:12. This pierces my heart, that we would serve our own interests, narcissistically self-promote and take credit for all the goodness God does. Serving self deafens our ears to hear what the Spirit has to say. Self-love wrecks our desires to put God first. We become "me-first" lovers of self, defenders of self and self promoters.

Believing in self, WEAKENS OUR FAITH IN GOD.

Commandment one: "You shall have no other gods before Me."

Service is Significant. Self-serving people are called narcissists. Christians serve Jesus, our Servant King, Ruler over everything. He owns all, designing everything from nothing and the sending of His Word to heal, create and save. Jesus, served as our sacrificial lamb to be crucified on our behalf, paying our sin debt, conquering sin and death once and for all. He was resurrected and is now ever-present, over all we are under and before every step we take. He is impartial and unconditional, waiting to conclude His plan for the ages. He will not always strive with us. Pray to be forgiven and give your life to Christ today. Don't wait. The Bible tells us what is happening, would happen. Evil is on its last rampage.

God says in Joshua 24:14 "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!"

So, reader, choose whom You will serve as Joshua once pledged:
"But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15d

God, help us choose rightly whom to serve. We seek to serve no other gods like those of money, pleasure, sex, power or our intellects.  Cause us to listen to You, hearing You clearly, through thundering attacks. May we listen to You day and night, asking Your advice, trusting and obeying.
May we serve You with love, authenticity, honor, glory, overflowing light, truth and thoughtfulness.
May we give You all glory, honor and thanks. Kill all narcissistic tendencies within us, that always pop out. Replace them with increased strength of faith in You. Thank You in the matchless name of Jesus as we ask You to send peace to Israel. Amen.
