Abusing Trust by Living in the Past.

The center verse of the whole Bible is a trust issue. Psalm 118:8 IT IS BETTER TO TRUST IN THE LORD THAN TO PUT CONFIDENCE IN MAN. Trust matters to God. We abuse trust. We really do.

Who to trust and why? My answers: God and because the future is His.
God repeatedly instructs us, that if we properly place our trust in Christ, we walk in sequence by His will. If we do self-trust, then we will walk out of His will and out of order. Walking out of order brings  us out of sequence and into consequence. Consequences are often, judgment and unpleasant.  If we don't walk worthy, then He won't bless the walk. Breaks down in my mind to, "my will," or "His will," "Yahweh or my way." I choose to trust Him. "Though He slay me, yet I will trust in Him." Job 13:15. Job didn't sin with his faith. Throughout every Satanic attack, Job trusted God and prayed for his miserable friends. His friends gave poor and untrustworthy advice. Job stayed faithful to God, saying "yet I will trust in Him, tells us he clearly understands the torturous present which he calls "slaying," but when Job said, "yet I will," shows us Job knows who holds his future and is worthy of all trust.

Reasons to leave the past in yesterday, where it belongs.
His choice to forgive and not remember our sins, is no small thing. "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins." Isaiah 43:25.  It's not that He can't remember, it's that He chooses not to remember them. It is Satan who thrusts our sins, in our faces. Satan is excellent at robbing of us of today's blessings. He only has to bring up the past, twist it and urge us to keep remembering the sadness of our mistakes. Then Satan can even lie to us, that we are to define ourselves by those past mistakes. Satan is good at this. Living in the past is a type of trust abuse. We are trusting in our faulty recollections of the past, instead trusting His better plans for leading us through today. Choose to NOT REMEMBER, your sins and the sins of others. Drop the hurt list. Remember the only innocent person was tortured and died for all those sins. Only one innocent one.

LEAVE THE PAST IN YESTERDAY, WHERE IT BELONGS.

We trust and obey or distrust and disobey, going our own way. Obedience accomplishes His will, disobedience runs against His will. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6

God help us to remember we are Your sheep, You are our Shepherd and we succeed when we keep things "sheep simple." Help us avoid complications. Purify our hearts, our thoughts and our walks.
We give You thanks for forming and informing our prayers, our thoughts and our feelings. Without You we can do nothing. Help us to abide in You, growing in eternal perspectives relative to all earthly, and temporal issues. Build our spirits.  All to You we owe, and we thank You for Jesus, for the Holy Spirit and that You are God and we are not! Keep us trusting and obeying especially during holiday times with family and friends. May we glow You. Please send peace to Israel. Amen.
