"Do not eat the bread of a miser, Nor desire his delicacies; For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, But his heart is not with you. The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up, And waste your pleasant words." Proverbs 23:6-8
"He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But however walks wisely will be delivered." Proverbs 28:26
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
Father, Maker of our hearts, Knower of our hearts, King of our hearts, please be enthroned. Cause our hearts to be pure, strong and undefiled. We seek to be unselfish and wise. We want to be thinking heart-thoughts of all that is good, true, noble of good report. Would You build our hearts anew every time we come repentant and seeking newness? Please cause our hearts to not only be a throne for You, but an engine of worship, a producer of praise and a furnace of faith. Make our hearts beat permanent thanks.
May our hearts resemble Your heart. Please break our hearts with what breaks Your heart. Bend our wills to Yours. We ask You to do these things, which apart from You, are impossible. Draw and keep us close. We pray peace to Jerusalem in the matchless name of Jesus especially now, amidst and within the whirlwind of evil coming against them. Jesus, Hosanna, save now. Please comfort the fearful, free the prisoners and stop the torture of Pastor Saeed and others imprisoned for their faith. May their days of serving You in prisons, under capture and torture come to a holy and glorifying conclusion. May their pain to come to a sudden, joyous and holy end.
Cause us to spread the gospel by Your gifts of strength, tenderness, boldness, sensitivity, hope and renewed faith no matter the opposition. May we never tire of doing good, by faith and for Your glory.
Thank You. Amen.
