Modern warfare tactics often include an advance air assault. This "stealthy" bomber tactic, pre-empts ground troops. Stealth bombers are a successful type of American advance air assault. I liken prayer to America's stealth bombers. Advance intercessory prayer is advantageous and foundational to God's battle plans. Warfare is best entered after advance prayer-assault. God's word trains us to be prayer-prepared, Christian soldiers. We are to be wise, reasonable and to heed warnings. Perceiving oncoming struggles, we must initiate our advantage, the advance of prayer. Guarding our hearts and souls, He marches along with us into victory after victory.
It has been my experience that our primary battlefield is spiritual, involving enemy attacks on the human heart and soul. Ezekiel clearly illustrates, Israel's idolatry was a matter of heart. Offending idols were kept by heart, which, over time. became the idolatrous heart of Israel. Ezekiel 13-14 explains how the devil, our enemy targets and describes his tactics. The devil's targets are our hearts and souls. His tactics often involve lies and sensuality. Ezekiel calls the devil's recruits, "soul hunters," and warns the people that they are enemy targets. The absence of prayer creates victims, where the advantage of the advance of prayer, prepares victors.
The advantage of becoming prayer aware, both warns and reveals. Intercessory prayer, allows us to fight the good fight, and know victory. Prayerlessness is part of Satan's battle plan. He hopes we will blindly enter into the fray, faithless and afraid. Prayerlessness is a door opener for evil. It is good to preempt Satan's attack on our nightly dreams, by nightly prayer and to pray before we rise each day. That's wise, advance, air assault. Prayer is our advantage.
God of all victory, all strength, all mighty righteousness and the God who cannot fail, it is to You we come to form and inform this prayer. We want to advance in our prayer lives. We want advantage. We want to intercede by splashing into Your ongoing currents of living intercession. Thank You that Jesus is interceding for us continually. We want to pray into and according to Your will, what You are doing, what You have already done and what You are about to do. We cannot know these things in our limited flesh, but by Your Spirit, we can be prompted to attend battles far, far away. We want to precede the attack, sending air assault by intercessory prayer led by YOU. As we view the world from our open Bibles in our living rooms, we ask You to spot the prayer needs to us, and teach us how to pray. We want to intervene, interrupt and intercede. We want to participate in defeating the march of evil. Right now, we ask mercy and deliverance for the tortured and the torturers in Iran, Syria, Iraq. spots in Africa and even in America, where evil burns.
We pray peace to Israel, giving You all thanks, all glory and all our love, praying this in the matchless name of Jesus, watching for Him. Amen.
