Every believer knows them. Faith killers. We don't always notice when they begin to poison us. The best antidote for these killers is bringing up God's word, written on our hearts and minds. It's key that we recognize these stealthy killers, remembering their origin: hell. Satan's war rages constantly against God by attacking believers. Not to worry, worship. God is stronger and wins. He arms us for the victory, not to become victims. Our job is to fight the right fight, with the right weapons, spiritual ones.
Open Doors for Faith Killing:
Closed, dusty, stiff, unread Bibles.
Prayerlessness.
Isolating from attending church and fellowship.
Overlooking carefully placed false statements amongst true statements, designed to displace your peace.
Chaotic, disorganized living.
Speaking quickly without thinking.
Snap judgments.
Not thinking past headlines.
Feeding discouraging thoughts.
Listening to negative evaluations of everything.
Thinking you know more, than you do.
Watching the television news without praying before you fall asleep.
Believing and repeating lies about the Bible, Jesus and God.
Not serving God.
Hating.
Self Pity.
Confusion.
Unbridled tolerance.
Perhaps the greatest Faith killer is F E A R. However, faith is stronger, lasts longer and has no borders when wielded properly. Understand the war. Enlist in God's fight. Prepare for enemy fire. Feed on the scriptures, memorize them and pray relentlessly, asking God to form and inform each prayer. Know that Jesus is present and interceding relentlessly on our behalf. God interrupts, intervenes, intercedes and reverses, erases and miraculously controls all whether we are walking in belief or not. God is steady, changeless and operating based on His terms, not ours, His plans not ours, and His impartial, unconditional love, not ours!!!
