SPIRITUAL MUSCLE and GIANTS.

The FORTIFYING POWERS of GOD, our GIANT KILLER.
The book of Deuteronomy is perhaps the most fortifying book of the Bible. Jesus quoted more from the book of Deuteronomy than any other Old Testament book. We need Bible time, listening time and the presence of Jesus, by the Person of the Holy Spirit Himself to speak to us always, fortifying our faith.

Do you know that God can do everything and that no purpose of His will be withheld from Him? "I know You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You." Job 42:2 This is something Job learned after having his faith tested and fortified. Giants loom large, but God is larger.

Deuteronomy is where I recommend people go, when  facing Giants. In my mind, illness can be a Giant. Divorce and then impending displacements, can be monstrous Giants. Murderous people like ISIS can be deadly Giants. Giants are part of life on earth. We are not without safety, fortifications and defense. Another book of fortification is the book of Job. Both Deuteronomy and Job fortify faith. If your faith is weak, go to these books and strengthen Your worship. Redirect Your attention to God, our Giant killer, and the one who allows them to walk among us for His reasons. God is holy. His terms are higher. His ways are higher. He is able. He wants us built up, not weak and rebellious.

GIANTS of addictions, diseases and destructive behaviors such as fear, doubt and worry are common to life on earth. These and other dangerous Giants us hide among us, seeing to weaken and destroy.
There is a stronger, victorious way to live in the land of every Giant. It is by abiding in Christ, trusting His word that the Giants are slain. By praying and spending time listening to the word of God, Giants are choked out. They die. We fortify, by recognizing the unseen reality of the spiritual part of life on earth and by diligently seeking to strengthen our spiritual muscle. Our spirit is the only part of us that is eternal and lasting. All else is perishing. We must daily seek to strengthen our spiritual muscle.

God help us recognize the types of faithful fortification we need. God help us build spiritual muscle. Thank You for Job, Deuteronomy and all the mighty people of spiritual muscle described in Your word. Make us mighty men and women of faith. Thank You for building us in Your word. Please remove our feet from the deadend paths we might volunteer for that can often lead to self destruction. Thank You for being our Giant killer. Help us notice the presence of Giants who might be hiding among us. We pray peace to Israel in the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
