God is not who you think He is.

Did you know the disciples even quibbled about who was most important ?  If you're feeling overlooked
or under used or more important than you should - join the club.  Everyone feels this way from time to time.  Thing is, God is impartial.  He doesn't say this is a good Christian, this is a strong Christian - He says this is my daughter, my sheep, my family whom I love impartially and unconditionally.  God remembers we are but dust.  It is we who forget !  He also calls us His own, and His friend like He called Abraham in 2 Chronicles 20:7.  It's best to focus on WHO IS HE, rather than WHO IS ME ?

Whenever feeling overlooked, look up and give thanks that our impartial God loves us continuously even when we overlook asking Him for directions, for His choices for us, for His plan or ? ? ? ? ?

I think the sheep who get to know Jesus the best are the ones that follow Him closely instead of from a far distance.  Sheep can stick closer to Jesus by being able to recognize what He looks like, what His voice sounds like and how safe it is to be near Him.  Knowing God's word helps us to know His voice.  Knowing God's word helps us allow competing voices to be drowned out by His great power and love.

YOU ALONE ARE GOD.  Psalm 86:10

Be sure you know God's voice, what He looks like and who He is.  He's very revealing.  God is not who you think He is.  God is who He says He is and He says who He is in His word.  We don't have to
make it up.  He speaks to us clearly about who He is from Genesis to Revelation.  It's important not to be
consumed with who you are, but who He is.  He is who He says He is.  He is not who we "think" or
"decide" He is.  He is WHO HE SAYS HE IS and HE SAYS WHO HE IS IN HIS WORD.  This is
the biggest and best reason I can think of to read the Bible.  I want to know God on His terms.  His terms
are outlined in His word.  Outside of His word are terms I cannot count on.  Help us Lord to see You through the eyes of scripture.  Thank you Lord.  Amen.
