MAKING a MOUNTAIN out of a MOLE HILL. How not to do it!

Have you ever made a big deal out of nothing? Of course. We all have. This is called making something big, like a mountain, out of something small, like a mole hill.  Everyone has done this or been victimized by someone else's "mountain making." Lots of times this happens in casual conversation where someone will take issue with someone else's tone of speech or word choice. Quite quickly they can move into the next step of mountain making, which is usually "accusations" followed by "character attacks." There you have it, a great big mountain has just been made out of a tiny little mole hill. This is very difficult to experience. We have some great role models of how to go through this without sinning with our lips.

The book of Job shows Satan firstly accusing Job, then attacking his character.  Throughout these attacks, Job kept his faith in God, unwaveringly. Jesus went through similar attacks just before the cross.

HOW NOT TO MAKE A MOUNTAIN:
Faith anchoring….
Job 13:15 "Thou He slay me, yet I will trust Him."

Self control secret……. silence!
Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. (He fights for me when I keep silent!)

Shout Grace to it!  Grace reduces the mountain to a plain, capped off by our Jesus, sovereignly present and over all.
Zechariah 4:6-7
"This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,
Says the LORD of hosts.
Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of Grace, grace to it!"

God of all grace, abundant in mercy, all mighty in power, Maker and Mover of Mountains, Repairer of the Breach, Reconciler of all Righteous Ways we come to You needy, asking and listening.  Please form and inform our prayers. Clue us in, that all divisive, accusations and character attacks are never from You. That Satan is our Accuser, and that Jesus is our Excuser, Prince of Peace and Reconciler. You alone judge character as You alone see hearts. Thank You for freeing us from any ability whatsoever to judge others. Keep us free from judging others while verbal attacks are flying. Keep a guard over our mouths as You shield our hearts.

Please help us value PERSPECTIVE. Keep our PERSPECTIVE, the PERSON of Jesus Himself. We confess, sometimes we lose perspective. Keep us in the power of GRACE, that GRACE PLACE where we maintain the reality of YOUR eternal perspective in our every now.

Thank You for forgiveness, self-control and perspective. We so thank You for Grace and the mountain reducing power of Your Grace. We pray peace to Israel in the face of a terrorist islamic state developing in their neighborhood. Thank You that You are omnipresent and are bringing all things to pass. That things are NOT FALLING APART. You are putting everything INTO PLACE according to Your plan of redemption begun before creation. You are so mighty. We love You, in the matchless name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
