A true love letter to our Pastors,
Today, we hear daily threats to destroy Israel. Today we see our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ beheaded, buried alive, crucified and worse. Today we feel almost like we don't need sermons as much as action plans we can all participate in, to help. Prayer meetings instead of usual outreaches. The body needs to help those in pain. We feel the torture. We pray there is something we can all do bound together by the Spirit Himself. Gather together. Send food. Send clothing. Send funds. Pray. We lift you all from every church, to our Father, for fresh wind, fresh fire, a new filling and for action steps we've never walked before, against an ancient enemy who is killing Christians everyday. Help us, help them. The church is bleeding. We love our family. Help us, help them, please.
Thank you.
I wrote this August 15. Then this morning, August 16, I was sent ideas for aid including a radio interview that moved me.
My morning Amendement of August 16, 2014 "A LOUDER FAITH"
I amend my heart cry. So great is God's faithfulness, that He saved Saul and turned him into Paul the apostle. Paul went from terrorist to teacher of God's great, redeeming love and power. I was reminded of this after listening to a Canadian radio interview of two Iraqi missionaries, one of which I've met and prayed with over the years. They are not seeking military intervention for Kurdistan, as much as they want churches to bring help; to BE the church by faith; to walk as Jesus would walk among the attacked and the attackers; and believe God to save even their enemies with His healing which is beyond human understandings. This is faith. Centuries of remembering what God has done, serving Him and sharing Him with the lost and the enemy.
Oh God of all mankind, maker and executer of all good and greatness we entrust this present human tragedy in Iraq, to Your able ways. Please take what the enemy has meant for harm, and turn it into new life. We are lifted by the LOUD FAITH of Iraqi Christians. They seek God's healing and salvation for the lost.
May the enemy turn from death to life in Christ. Would You save the faithful, feed them, clothe them and bring them to safety as they believe You to their last breath. Please cause the body, the church to be able to do great things for the sake of Jesus. You want none to perish. Please hear them, and move us.
We pray peace to Israel. Amen.
