On the trunk of a tree, I noticed a scar in the shape of a heart. This tree stands in the planter, directly in front of where I like to park, when I go to the gym. This "heart scar" is perfectly shaped. I simply love finding hearts and crosses unexpectedly. They seem like "love touches" from heaven. Doesn't your heart jump when you see white clouds forming a perfect cross shape, on blue skies, overhead? It's so encouraging to look up and see "cloud crosses" and look forward and see"heart scars" in nature. So, Jesus, being the vine, came to mind. We are the "grafted in" branches. This got me to thinking about the grafting site on the vine. Maybe that site is a heart shape! Love shapes His holy imprint on our lives.
Sometimes love hurts, burns, aches and seizes us with pain and hurtful attack on our hearts. It's true that nothing touches us that is not first, Father-filtered. Perhaps He will shape our battle scars into shapes of hearts. That He might enable our scars to be seen and show His all powerful, supernatural, unconditional, forgiving love. That our heart scars might lead others to Christ, and leave love trails to Him. Our enemy would certainly like his attacks, to harden our hearts and make them useless to Christ. Satan makes hearts stoney, bitter, angry and self-absorbed IF WE LET HIM. Jesus is our "attack" model. He defeated Satan using such weapons as faith, love, trust and silent-obedience. During His trial, He said nothing, responding only with trust and obedience. Obedience and love kept His heart dedicated to staying on the cross, upon which our sins, nailed Him. Jesus won.
We believe our hearts are a battlefield. His heart is our fortress. The war is real. God cannot fail. God wins and yes, EVEN GOD HAS SCARS. May we focus on His scars, before ours own, and cause them to count for His kingdom.
God, we thank You for all our scars and for our heart scars which we gained while walking with You. Please use those scars to change us, to more closely, resemble Jesus. During Spiritual warfare, thank You for arming us to spread Your love, the gospel good news, and survive, by the Spirit Himself. We need Your word for basic training, a sort of boot camp where we can learn to bring light, forgiveness and healing in Your name. Thanks that none of our scarring is by accident or without purpose or reason. Thank You that our scars have all powerful, majestic reasons to exist and makes us more like Jesus. Help us to understand the power of our scars which seem so silent but very present. We love Your silent signs. Cause us to understand the power of our scars, that they can show life after pain, wounding, betrayal, injustice and the FACT of YOUR healing.
We love Your silent heart and cross signs in nature. They remind us that You are with us, and over all we are under. That all our tests and trials are handpicked by You, not for our harm, but to press us into the likeness of Jesus. We ask You to bring peace to Israel in the matchless name of Jesus. Thanks for imprinting our hearts with Jesus' "love-scars" from the cross. May His "love-scars" continue to lead all and especially Israel, into salvation. May we daily, learn new reasons for our scars and then use them, according to all that is good and lovely. Thank You for scars. Amen.
